Fast turnaround time was critical

The Dewey waters team received an urgent order for a category 5 tank for a temporary wash down facility for the Health Care services in Swansea. The category 5 tank was required to enable the health care officials to increase capacity for effectively cleaning and sterilising their fleet of ambulances with immediate effect in response to the COVID-19 crisis.

This wash down facility is vital to ensure all measures are being exhausted to reduce the risk of contamination. With the increase of ambulance services required during this pandemic, it is of utmost priority to ensure adequate water supply for the sterilisation and cleaning of these vehicles. Sterilisation measures which are a necessity in everyday practice and ever more crucial at this time to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Our customer required a solution that would enable the health care service to increase the water storage available at their wash down facility. The water tank provided would need to eliminate any risk of backflow into the mains water supply to ensure the safety of all hospital personnel.

Category 5 AB compliant water tanks

Dewey Waters Category 5-AB tanks are used by water authorities to ensure there are zero risks of contamination of the water back into the main water supply. An AB air gap (fluid category 5) is used when the project is deemed a high risk of contamination into the mains of a building or a device with the building itself. The category 5 water tank requires minimal floor space for specific applications within the health care sector, including ambulance stations and temporary hospital wash down areas.
