Dewey Waters offers all of our export customers the opportunity to avail of two training programmes designed specifically to upskill engineers on the installation and maintenance of GRP sectional tanks
Everything you need to know about GRP Cold Water Storage Tank Installation
The training school is designed to teach customers how to assemble, maintain and effectively test sectional water storage tanks, independent of extensive external supervision. The training is carried out at our UK premises, where engineers are brought through the full construction process – offering comprehensive practical and verbal instruction. Once completed, customers will have the ability to assemble GRP water tanks at a time convenient to them.
Originally set up to train commercial export partners, the scope of the training programme was expanded to accommodate requests from customers. Not only does the training school programme ensure customers are able to assemble water tanks without the need of an external crew or supervisor, but clients also gain a deeper understanding of products and best practices for the usage and long term maintenance of cold water storage systems.
The objectives of the tank training programme
- To learn how to assemble, maintain and effectively test sectional water storage tanks.
- Give the customer flexibility to install the tanks with their own engineers at a time convenient to them and to suit their programme.
- Provide a deeper understanding of the water storage tank system.
The courses, which last one week each, are designed to allow project managers the ability to install and maintain cold water storage tanks using their own engineers. This allows control over the timelines of installation in line with the overall project plans. Once trained, the engineers are fully supported by experts within the Dewey Waters engineering department
GRP Cold Water Sectional Tank Training for clients in the Middle East
In 2013, Dewey Waters won the contract to supply GRP sectional water storage tanks to a new client in the Middle East. Managing Director of Dewey Waters, Tim Stisted, first held a meeting at the headquarters in Weston-Super-Mare in February 2013, delivering an overview of the company, showcasing the quality of the products manufactured, including the strict quality standards which are consistently met by Dewey Waters. He presented an overview of the production facilities for the manufacture of small to large GRP sectional water tanks to this client, as well as providing an overview of the training resources available to them.
The initial meeting with our clients in the Middle East proved successful and was followed two weeks later with our first order. Our partners made the strategic decision to avail of the two training programmes available for their project engineers involved in the construction of the tank. The initial training involved the installation and maintenance of hot press sectional tanks up to 3 meters deep, followed by an additional training programme on for our tank system over 3m high.
This ongoing support of our client in the middle east has allowed them to control the costs of their projects by having their own engineers onsite to install the GRP water storage tanks. It has also allowed greater control over the project timelines.
