Eversafe Fire Protection, LPCB APPROVED SPRINKLER TANK INSTALLATION

Challenge

Eversafe Fire Protection’s project required the installation of a 135,000L Fire Sprinkler Tank, which would be used to supply both domestic and commercial sprinkler requirements that they had onsite. Eversafe also made it clear that the fire sprinkler tank must conform to the latest LPCB Approved Certification, which is the LPS 1276 Issue 2.0 standard, that Dewey Waters proudly hold.

Eversafe Fire Protection also noted that this fire sprinkler tank was to be located within a plant room that had a column in the middle. This meant that the sprinkler system would have to be split into two separate tanks, preferably of equal volume. Although Eversafe have the expertise and skills to understand beyond regular sprinkler tank requirements, they decided to turn to Dewey Waters for assistance with this project.

LPCB Approved Sprinkler Tanks

Due to the hazardous and damaging effects of fire, fire protection systems and their parts are required to meet strict standards as set forth in LPS1276 Issue 2.0. The efficacy of sprinkler systems is contingent on their design, installation, and upkeep. In line with LPS 1048-1: Requirements for the approval of Sprinkler Contractors in the UK and Ireland, sprinkler installers are expected to have the capacity to design, install, and maintain sprinkler systems.

Solution

As Eversafe Fire Protection have worked with Dewey Waters on a number of projects previously, they knew that we have the expertise to help them with any issues, including where a large water tank needed to fit into a much smaller space. Once we had received the enquiry we worked together with Eversafe to ensure they had the correct solution to their project, within budget and on time.

As the plant room had a column in the centre of the room, it was decided that two LPCB Approved Dewey Waters 12.5m x 3.5m x 2m sprinkler tanks would be the best solution. This meant that the total volume could be spread between the two tanks, while also ensuring that they fit within the plant room, and adhered to all clearance requirements.
