SECTIONAL SPRINKLER TANK EXPORT

Les Quennevais School is an 11-16 school in St. Brelade, Jersey, Channel Islands and has been established since 1965, Les Quennevais School is currently in development of a New School that wanted a suppression system added as an additional safety measure.

The new School that is currently under construction will be 58,000 square metres and will be situated to the north of St Brelades Social Club and opposite the airport football pitches. It has been designed to provide the cutting edge, modern facilities needed to deliver a 21st Century curriculum to up to 850 students.

Our client requested a new sprinkler tank for this new development to the School.  Our client stated that  this is a new innovative development for Jersey as they have adopted the HAPSS system instead of a BS:EN:12845 system. The school didn’t require a sprinkler system as it was fully compliant with current building regulations. However the States of Jersey wanted to install a sprinkler system for added security.

The client noted that the costs of a commercial system were so high they had decided not to install suppression until they heard of the system developed by Hampshire County Council and approved by FIRAS.  Following a thorough risk assessment it was approved and installed with minimum expense.

 Our logistics team organised a tail lift truck from the courier to deliver direct to the School in Jersey.
The entire install of a 5x3x2 meter tank with a capacity of 30,000 litres from delivery, site induction to installation, took the team five days to construct. The new water tank was WRAS approved and passed to the Sprinkler specialists to connect to their sprinkler system
